Trapping
Before you begin a beaver removal program on your land it is a good idea to contact your nearest Wildlife Conservation Officer and learn about the current state regulations pertaining to beaver. Some laws and regulations that normally do not change and apply to beaver trapping are:
- All traps must be checked once every 24 hours.
- The name and address of the trapper must be on each trap.
- A conibear type trap with jaw span of 8 inches or greater can be used in water sets.
- Only beaver taken during the regular open season may be sold.
- A furharvester license is required to sell the pelts of beaver.
